Concept for an installation (unrealised). A round room is divided into three sectors, one of which is accessible for the audience. From here, the two other sectors can be observed through windows: In the second sector, a group of people is apparently observing or studying the goings-on in the third sector. There, different social situations take place (e.g. a picknick, a gymnastics presentation or a date). A window that separates the observed from the observers is only transparent for the latter. For the audience, that is able to see both sides of this window, the question is raised if, respectively from which sector, it is itself invisible and if it is in fact only observing or could itself be observed. A camera (not running) on a tripod looking at the audience sector from the sector of the observers enforces this uncertainty. It could be just “parked“ there or imply that the audience is also – may be at other times – an object of observation.
